Warhead of Russian missile neutralized in Zhytomyr region

In Zhytomyr region, police explosives experts neutralized an unexploded warhead of a Russian missile.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zhytomyr region.

“Recently, specialists of the explosive service of the Main Department of the National Police in the region found a warhead of an Kh-101 missile that fell in a field near one of the settlements of the region and did not detonate,” the statement said.

It is noted that residents of the surrounding villages were temporarily evacuated for safety.

To minimize the force of the explosion and avoid flying debris, the dangerous part of the missile was placed in a pit and covered with soil. After that, it was destroyed by controlled detonation. Explosive experts examined the crater and stated that there were no dangerous parts left and there was no threat to people.

The police reminded that it is strictly forbidden to touch or move suspicious objects or ammunition, parts of missiles, shells, bombs, UAVs, etc. In case of their detection, it is necessary to move to a safe distance in the same way as you came and report the discovery to the police or rescuers.
