War update: 165 clashes on font lines in past 24 hours, most attacks in Pokrovsk sector
Ukrainian forces engaged in 165 combat clashes with Russian invaders on March 24, with the fiercest battles occurring in the Pokrovsk sector.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a war update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
Russian forces launched 76 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas on Monday, dropping 101 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they carried out 6,261 shelling attacks, including 142 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and deployed 2,640 kamikaze drones.
Enemy airstrikes targeted multiple settlements, including Velykyi Prykil, Myropilske, Prokhody, Petrushivka, Turia, Uhroidy and Krasnopillia in the Sumy region; Svitlychne and Slatyne in the Kharkiv region; Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohitia, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, and Kamianske in the Zaporizhia region.
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy made three attempts to breach Ukrainian defensive lines toward Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian assaults near Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces launched 24 attacks, attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defenses near Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and in the directions of Stepove, Novomykhailivka, Novyi, and Zarichne.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped six offensive actions near Bilohorivka and towards Verkhniokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, five engagements were reported in the area of Chasiv Yar and toward Dyliivka.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy conducted 19 attacks near Toretsk and close to Dyliivka, Dachne, and Krymske.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 53 Russian assault operations near Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and in the direction of Pokrovsk, Kotliarivka, Bohdanivka, and Oleksiivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian troops launched 19 attacks near Kostiantynopil and towards Rozlyv and Vesele.
In the Huliaipole sector, three Russian assault attempts were repelled near Novopil and in the direction of Vilne Pole.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to advance twice towards Lobkove.
In the Dnipro River sector, no combat clashes were reported.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of Russian offensive group formations were detected.
Ukraine's Defense Forces continued operations in Russia's Kursk region. Over the past day, the enemy launched 16 airstrikes, dropping 20 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 302 shelling attacks, including seven using MLRS. Ukrainian troops halted 18 Russian assaults.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aircraft, missile forces, and artillery struck 15 areas of Russian troop concentrations, weaponry, and military equipment. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed an enemy artillery system and a command post.
