
Two killed, one injured in Russian strike on Kurtivka in Donetsk region
A Russian attack on the village of Kurtivka in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region has killed a woman and her three-year-old daughter, while a 15-year-old girl sustained injuries.
Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
The wounded teenager was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities are still assessing the full extent of the destruction caused by the attack.
Filashkin urged residents of the region to evacuate for their safety.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that the Russian military likely used a FAB-250 bomb with a UMPK guidance kit in the attack. The strike hit a residential area.
According to prosecutors, the 36-year-old mother and her three-year-old daughter were killed instantly from fatal injuries. The woman's second child, a 15-year-old girl, suffered shrapnel wounds and a fractured femur and was taken to a hospital.
The family was on a playground at the time of the attack.
