Spox: Russians ramp up kamikaze drone strikes in Kherson
On the Prydniprovsky front, Russian troops are constantly increasing the number of kamikaze drone strikes on Kherson and on the settlements adjacent to the Dnipro River on the right bank.
According to Ukrinform, this was stated on television by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn.
“The enemy is constantly increasing the number of kamikaze drone strikes and shelling not only Kherson but also the settlements adjacent to the Dnipro River on the right bank of the river with artillery and multiple rocket launchers,” Voloshyn said.
According to the spokesman, the occupants are also actively using attack and army aviation, launching unguided missiles at the right bank.
“The enemy has actually set up a training center for its FPV drone pilots there, and is training its pilots on Ukrainian citizens, on our facilities on the right bank,” emphasized Voloshyn.
He noted that the occupants do not give up trying and do not stop taking various actions to seize certain footholds on the island zone on the right bank, so the situation is currently quite difficult in the Prydniprovsky and Kherson directions.
“The enemy is not doing as much as it was in the fall, but it is taking certain actions. We call them reconnaissance and search operations, as if they are trying to cross the Dnipro River, through the Dnipro straits, and gain a foothold on the right bank or on one of the islands that are closest to it. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are suppressing these attempts, trying to destroy such groups that start forcing their way in even when they are on their own shore. The Ukrainian Defense Forces do not allow the Russians to cross or even swim to the right bank, and there are many such cases,” the spokesman said.
As Ukrinform reported, 209 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded at the front yesterday, March 27.
