More than 43,000 criminal proceedings launched over crimes committed by Russian army – police
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, investigators of the National Police have opened 43,057 criminal proceedings over the facts of crimes committed by Russia’s military and their accomplices on the territory of Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Interior Ministry’s press service.
In particular, Ukrainian law enforcers registered 31,915 cases related to violations of the laws and customs of war, 9,037 - encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, 1,924 - collaborative activities.
In addition, 96 cases were instituted over high treason and 37 cases over sabotage.
In the liberated territories of Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kherson regions, law enforcers found 34 places where the Russians had illegally detained and tortured Ukrainian citizens.
As Ukrinform reported, U.S. Representative to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield assured that the Russian army will be held accountable for its war crimes committed in Ukraine.
