Police opened almost 48,500 cases over Russian war crimes in Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian law enforcers have opened 48,499 criminal proceedings over the facts of crimes committed by Russia’s military and their accomplices in Ukraine.

The press service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said this in a statement, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, Ukrainian law enforcers registered 36,998 cases related to violations of the laws and customs of war, 9,128 - encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, 2,188 - collaborative activities.

In addition, 100 cases were instituted over high treason and 37 cases over sabotage.

According to the Interior Ministry, 327 children are considered missing in Ukraine, 8,202 children have been found, and 13,124 children have been deported to the Russian Federation.

The police have so far opened 49 criminal proceedings on the facts of sexual violence committed by Russian military personnel.

As reported, the police on December 13 opened nine criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the Russian military in Kherson region.
