Russian crimes in Ukraine: National Police opens nearly 68,800 cases
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the National Police has opened 68,781 criminal cases over the crimes committed by the Russians and their accomplices in Ukraine.
"Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, investigators of the National Police of Ukraine have initiated 68,781 criminal proceedings over the crimes committed in the territory of Ukraine by service members of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and their accomplices," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
It is noted that the largest number of cases – 56,711 – was opened under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code (Violation of laws and customs of war).
As reported, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine documented that more than 8,000 civilians were killed and nearly 14,000 civilians were injured as a result of the war.
