In Zakarpattia, temporary crossing built to replace destroyed bridge over the Teresva River

Overnight, four sections of a heavy mechanized bridge TMM-3M1 were installed across the Teresva River in the Zakarpattia region.

The State Emergency Service reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"As a result of teamwork, four sections of the heavy mechanized bridge TMM-3M1 40 meters long were installed over the Teresva River overnight and the access roads to the temporary crossing were cleared," the statement said.

Road H-09 is being used as a temporary crossing point. Police officers are ensuring reverse traffic.

In total, 69 people and 35 vehicles were involved in the work during these days, including 50 rescuers and 19 vehicles from the State Emergency Service.

As reported, on July 24, a bridge over the Teresva River collapsed in the Zakarpattia region due to a passing truck. The truck's tonnage was seven times higher than the permissible limit.

Even before the collapse, the bridge was in disrepair. It was last repaired more than 60 years ago.

As a result of the bridge collapse, two vehicles fell into the Teresva River. There are victims, including children. One person is in serious condition.
