Two ex-officials to be tried for collaboration with invaders in Donetsk region

The indictments against two former officials of local self-government bodies, who collaborated with the Russians in captured Mariupol and Urzuf village in Donetsk region, were sent to court.

“The National Police investigators sent indictments against the collaborators, who voluntarily headed the ‘state institutions of the city of Mariupol’ of the so-called ‘DPR’ during the temporary occupation of a part of Donetsk region by the Russian army, to court,” the National Police posted on Facebook.

Law enforcement officers collected evidence of the criminal activities of collaborators who previously worked in local self-government bodies.

In particular, the police officers established that the defendants collaborated with the enemy and headed the "Mariupol Prymorskyi District Administration" and the "Urzuf Village Administration".

They face up to 10 years in prison.

As reported, the heads of the occupation structures of Manhush village, who campaigned for the villagers to obtain Russian passports and the settlement to join the Russian Federation, will be tried in absentia for collaborationism in Donetsk region.
