Russian officer ordered to kill residents of Kyiv region to be tried in absentia
The Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky District Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against the company commander of the 64th separate motorised rifle brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, who ordered to shoot an elderly man.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The soldier is charged with Part 1 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).
The investigation found that during the temporary seizure of the village of Lypivka, Bucha district, following the order of the accused, his subordinate Russian servicemen shot an elderly man who was in his own yard and posed no threat to them with firearms.
Due to the invaders' ban on civilians moving freely in the village, the man was unable to receive qualified medical care and died.
Later, Russians shot at his house from a tank, knowing that the wounded man was inside. The victim burned down with the building.
As reported by Ukrinform, law enforcement officers identified and notified a Russian military commander who led the seizure of the Kharkiv region of suspicion of aggressive military actions.
