Ukraine probing 28 cases into killing of 62 POWs by Russian military

The prosecutor's office is investigating 28 criminal proceedings concerning the murder of 62 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the invasion forces.

Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin reported this on the air of the national telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent saw.

"Today, we are investigating 28 criminal proceedings related to the murder of 62 Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian troops. In these proceedings, four persons have been charged. The inquiry targeting another two persons has already been completed and the indictments have been forwarded to court. One person has been convicted," Kostin said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukrainian law enforcers have identified Russian commanders who are potentially responsible for the beheading of a Ukrainian POW in Donetsk region.
