Militants fire mortar shells on Popasna town
Militants of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) yesterday fired mortar shell on the town of Popasna in Luhansk region.
The press service of Luhansk Regional Military and Civil Administration reported.
“On November 9, from 20.55 till 21.00 local time, from the side of Pervomaysk town (controlled by LPR) 80-mm mortars were fired twice. The shells landed at the 19th roadblock in Popasna town,” reads a report.
No casualties were reported.
As Head of Luhansk Regional Military and Civil Administration, Heorhiy Tuka said that “for the first time during the period of calm, shells were firing on densely populated area”.
The governor also added that “such impudent periodic night firing is aimed, first of all, at provoking our soldiers”.
