Militants violate ceasefire 71 times in past day
Russian-backed militants 71 times violated the ceasefire regime in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, over the past day. Moreover, the rebels directed fire at residential areas, the ATO press service reports.
“The number of attacks has been increased and geography [of attacks] is widening. At the same time, by provoking our servicemen to open fire, terrorists centered fire at districts where civilians live. Over the past day, militants of the so-called republics 71 times violated the ceasefire regime,” reads a report.
In particular, the enemy used 82-mm mortars to open aimed fire on Ukrainian positions in Zaitseve, while in Novhorodske and Mayorsk the enemy used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and infantry fighting vehicles.
In addition, not far from the occupied Donetsk, militants used various kinds of weapon to attack Ukrainian positions in Opytne, Pisky, Avdiivka and at Butovka mine.
The situation near Mariynka also remained tense.
