Militants shell Ukrainian troops 42 times over past day

The situation in ATO area in eastern Ukraine remains tense. Militants launched 42 attacks on the Ukrainian positions over the past day.

"Militants used 82mm mortars to shell ATO troops near Avdiyivka [18km north of Donetsk], Vodiane [16km north-west of Donetsk], Taramchuk [30km south-west of Donetsk], Novotoshkivske [53km north-west of Luhansk], Krasnohorivka [29 km west of Donetsk]. 120mm mortars were used to fire at Ukrainian positions outside Novotroitske [32km south of Donetsk]," the report reads.

The activity of the illegal armed groups was also observed near Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Shchastia (23km north of Luhansk), Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk). Most of attacks from grenade launchers of different systems, machine guns and small arms were recorded in Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk). Despite the considerable efforts of militants, the positions of Ukrainian troops remain unchanged.
