Militants launched seven attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day
Russian-backed militants launched seven attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day.
This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.
In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations fired 120mm mortars on Ukrainian positions near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). ATO troops outside Shchastia (23km north of Luhansk) came under 82mm, grenade launcher and anti-aircraft mount fire.
In Donetsk direction, militants used 120mm mortars, weapons on tanks and infantry combat vehicles, heavy machine guns and small arms to launch attacks near Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol). Ukrainian strongholds came under 120mm mortar fire outside Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) and Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk).
No losses among Ukrainian troops as a result of the enemy attacks were reported.
The Trilateral Contact Group and other signatories to the Minsk peace accords reached the agreement on resumption of the ceasefire, which is expected to enter into force on March 5 starting from 00:01.
