President Petro Poroshenko took part in the final testing of the Vilkha missile complex and instructed to begin mass production of the missile in 2018.
“I instructed to begin mass production of the missile in 2018,” the President wrote on Facebook.
He also told why he had taken part in the final testing of the Vilkha missile complex in Kherson region.
“Why is it so important? Not only because the Ukrainian army will finally get a high-precision weaponry that will substantially increase the efficiency of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units, but also because the Vilkha missile is fully made of Ukrainian details. Nobody can hinder us in producing this high-precision weaponry,” the Head of State emphasized.
Vilkha missile complex is being developed out of the legacy 9К58 Smerch MLRS technology. The first mention of the Vilkha project came from President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at National Security and Defense Council meeting on January 27, 2016.
