Three soldiers wounded in 44 attacks on Ukrainian positions over past day

Militants have fired at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas 44 times over the past 24 hours, wounding three Ukrainian servicemen, the press center for the Joint Forces has reported.

"Forty-four attacks on our positions have been recorded over the first day of the Joint Forces Operation. The enemy, not complying with international agreements, opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars and small arms six times. Three servicemen were wounded," the statement reads.

According to the press center, the wounded were provided with qualified medical assistance and evacuated to hospital. There is no threat to their lives.

According to the report, Ukrainian units returned fire in response to the shelling of the Russian occupation troops if necessary, without violations of the Minsk agreements.

It notes that the situation was relatively calm from midnight on Tuesday, with militants firing at the positions of the Ukrainian military five times.

"According to intelligence, the enemy has sustained losses over the past day - five wounded," the press center said.
