Lithuania rotates military instructors in Ukraine
Twelve servicemen of the Prince Vaidotas infantry battalion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces will arrive in Ukraine to take part in a mission to train Ukrainian military personnel.
“Two [Lithuanian] servicemen will leave for Ukraine today, while ten more will arrive in four weeks. They will train Ukrainians along with the instructors from the United States. It is the second rotation of the battalion representatives in Ukraine," the Delfi portal reports.
As reported, about 30 Lithuanian servicemen hold training in Ukraine. The instructors of the Lithuanian army have assisted in training the Ukrainian military personnel since August 2015. The exercises are held in central, northern and western regions of Ukraine.
The representatives of the Lithuanian Armed Forces underscore that the Lithuanian servicemen are not directly involved in the military hostilities in eastern Ukraine.
