Russian-led forces launched 14 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire agreements 14 times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements eight times, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day. 

A total of 77 82mm and 120mm mortars were fired into Ukrainian positions. In addition, the enemy shelled Ukrainian strongholds, using antitank missile system, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms. Ukrainian troops also came under sniper fire.

“In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces used 120mm mortars, antitank missile system, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns to fire on Ukrainian stronghold outside Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); 120mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns – near Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); hand-held antitank and under-barrel grenade launchers and small arms – outside Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk). Ukrainian positions near Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk) came under sniper fire.

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy fired 120mm mortars and mounted grenade launchers on JFO units near Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars, mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars – in the area of Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk); grenade launchers of different systems – near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk); small arms – outside Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk).

One Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in last day.

According to the intelligence, eight invaders were killed and two more were wounded on February 22. Two tactical vehicles of the enemy were destroyed.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.

The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire agreements.
