Russian-led forces launch ten attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas
Russian occupation forces launched ten attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements four times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.
The illegal armed formations also fired weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms on the units of the Joint Forces.
“In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars and mounted antitank grenade launchers on Ukrainian troops near Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol); 82mm mortars and weapons on infantry fighting vehicles – outside Opytne (12km north-west of Donetsk); mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – in the area of Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); hand-held grenade launchers and small arms – near Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk); heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol),”the JFO Headquarters press center reports.
In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Vilne (70km south-west of Donetsk).
Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet. No casualties among Ukrainian servicepersons were reported.
“The Joint Forces units adequately return fire in response to the enemy provocations. According to the intelligence, four invaders were annihilated and six more were wounded on April 20,” the Headquarters reports.
