Russian-led forces launch 11 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas
Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire 11 times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements twice, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.
“The enemy fired 100mm artillery systems, 82mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft mounts, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms on the units of the Joint Forces,” the press center of the Joint Forces Headquarters reports.
In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-led forces opened fire from 100mm artillery systems, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft mounts and automatic mounted grenade launchers on Ukrainian troops near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk); grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns outside Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol) and Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms – in the area of Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk) and Krasnohorivka (21km west of Donetsk); mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – near Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol); hand-held grenade launchers and small arms – outside Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk) and Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); heavy machine guns – near Novohryhorivka (61km north-east of Donetsk).
In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy used 82mm mortars and heavy machine guns to shell Ukrainian positions near Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk); weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Novhorodske (35km north of Donetsk).
One Ukrainian soldier was wounded over the past day. The Joint Forces adequately returned fire in response to enemy’s shooting. According to intelligence, one invader was annihilated and another one was wounded on May 19.
Today, the enemy has already opened fire from mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns on Ukrainian troops near Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); automatic mounted grenade launchers and small arms – in the area of Starohnativka (51km south of Donetsk). No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported.
The Joint Forces units continue to reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to ceasefire agreements.
