Japan to join Sea Breeze 2020 exercise in Ukraine for first time
Japan's Self-Defense Forces will take part in the Sea Breeze 2020 military exercise for the first time, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has reported.
"For the first time Japan's Self-Defense Forces will take part in this year's See Breeze military exercise," the statement reads.
Following the meeting between Ukrainian Defense Andriy Zahorodniuk and Director-General of the C4 Department of Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force Command, Major General Jiro Hiroe, the parties outlined the main directions of defense cooperation between Ukraine and Japan and agreed to continue mutually beneficial cooperation in this area.
They also discussed the issue of countering hybrid threats. The Ukrainian side stressed the importance of sharing experience taking into account the general character of the existing challenges and threats.
