Taran discusses defense reform with U.S. strategic advisor

Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran had a phone call with Senior United States Defense Advisor to Ukraine, retired Lieutenant General Keith W. Dayton.

"During the conversation, the parties focused on discussing the state of implementation of the defense reform tasks and identifying priorities aimed at ensuring the country's defense capabilities, as well as development of operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with NATO standards, which will be implemented with the support of high-level foreign strategic advisers," reads the report on the website of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine of April 30.

The High Level Group of Foreign Advisers to the Reforms Committee of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces includes high-level strategic advisers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania.
