About 50 armored vehicles modernized for Ukrainian army according to NATO standards

Mykolaiv Armored Plant has fulfilled a state order ahead of schedule and handed over about 50 armored reconnaissance patrol vehicles for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukroboronprom's press service has reported.

"The state-owned enterprise Mykolaiv Armored Plant, part of the Ukroboronprom state company, has fulfilled the state defense order for the repair and modernization of BRDM-2L1s ahead of schedule. Under the contract, the customer received about 50 armored reconnaissance patrol vehicles," the report said.

According to the report, in the process of modernization, the company's specialists have improved the tactical and technical characteristics of the BRDM-2. In particular, the vehicle's ergonomics have been changed due to the side hatches with reinforced armor. In addition, thermal imagers and modern communications and navigation facilities that meet NATO standards have been installed.

The BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance patrol vehicle is in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It has increased cross-country capability and is designed to conduct reconnaissance and escort convoys.
