Defense Ministry developed draft military security strategy of Ukraine

The Defense Ministry has already developed a draft Military Security Strategy of Ukraine and intends to submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers by December 15.

Andriy Yakovenko, Head of the Military Policy and Strategic Planning Office of the Military Policy and Strategic Planning Department of the Defense Ministry stated this, the press service of the Defense Ministry reports.

"The draft document is ready. The stage of interdepartmental approval has been completed, after receiving a legal conclusion from the Justice Ministry, we hope that by December 15 of the current year, the draft Military Security Strategy will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers with further submission to the National Security and Defense Council. If the National Security and Defense Council approves the decision, the Military Security Strategy will be put into effect by a president's decree,” Yakovenko said.

In addition, according to him, the ministry is developing a new version of the Strategic Defense Bulletin of Ukraine. The new Bulletin is aimed at the development of the Armed Forces and will indicate the requirements for building a promising model of the army and other components of the defense forces for the next five years or more.

“We are planning to submit a new draft Strategic Defense Bulletin to the state leadership for consideration and approval within three months after the approval of the Military Security Strategy, which, as we expect, will consolidate a concept of comprehensive defense and involve for its implementation not only the Armed Forces but also all components of the security and defense sector and civil society," said Yakovenko.
