OSCE records over 1,500 “silence” breaches in Donbas on Sep 8
Over the past day, September 8, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission documented more than 1,500 ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine.
Most of the truce breaches were reported in Donetsk region, Ukrinform wrote referring to the SMM Daily Report No.210/2021.
In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 1,090 ceasefire violations, including one airburst explosion. Almost all ceasefire violations occurred in an area south-west of Zernove (nongovernment-controlled, 70km south of Donetsk).
The monitors assessed them as “a live-fire exercise,” which is a violation of the decision of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) of March 3, 2016, that prohibits the conduct of live-fire training in the security zone.
In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 114 ceasefire violations.
In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded 476 ceasefire violations, including 47 explosions (one airburst and 46 undetermined).
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian occupation forces on September 8 four times opened fire on the positions of Ukraine’s Joint Forces.
