OSCE SMM records 812 ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine over weekend
Between the evenings of 15 and 17 October, the OSCE SMM recorded 734 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and 78 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region.
“In Donetsk region, between the evenings of 15 and 17 October, the SMM recorded 734 ceasefire violations, including 139 explosions (one airburst and 138 undetermined),” reads the OSCE SMM daily report 244/2021 issued on October 18, 2021.
The majority of ceasefire violations occurred inside and near the disengagement area near Petrivske (non-government-controlled, 41km south of Donetsk) on the evenings of 15 and 16 October and during the day on 16 and 17 October, and north of Shyrokyne (government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk) on the evening and night of 15 to 16 and 16 to 17 October and during the day on 17 October.
In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 236 ceasefire violations in the region, the majority of which also occurred inside and in areas close to the disengagement area near Petrivske.
“In Luhansk region, between the evenings of 15 and 17 October, the SMM recorded 78 ceasefire violations, including 13 undetermined explosions,” the Mission informs.
The majority of ceasefire violations occurred inside and north-east of the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk) during the day on 17 October.
In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 273 ceasefire violations in the region, the majority of which also occurred in areas close to the disengagement area near Zolote.
