Thirteen ceasefire violations by occupiers recorded in eastern Ukraine

Over the past day, October 22, the Russian-occupations troops violated ceasefire 13 times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements twice, in eastern Ukraine.

“In particular, the enemy launched two attacks from heavy machine guns and tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns outside Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk). Towards Krasnohorivka (21km west of Donetsk), mercenaries fired 120mm mortars and 100mm artillery. Two attacks, using grenade launchers of different systems and small arms, were launched towards Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk). Ukrainian positions in the area of Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk) came under heavy machine gun and hand-held antitank grenade launcher fire twice. Near Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk), the enemy used anti-tank missile system. Outside Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), the enemy armed formations launched two attacks from tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns, heavy machine guns, and 82mm mortars. In the area of Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol) and Novoselivka Druha (36km north-east of Mariupol), Russian-occupation troops fired tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Small arms were also fired outside Zaitseve (62km north-east of Donetsk),” the press center of the JFO Headquarters posted on Facebook.

As a result of the enemy shelling, one Joint Forces soldier was wounded and another one was injured. The soldiers were taken to a medical facility.

To force the enemy to stop attacks, Ukrainian defenders opened fire without using the weapons prohibited under the Minsk agreements.

As of 07:00 on October 23, no ceasefire violations were reported.
