Ukrainian intelligence not confirming Russian troop movements near state border
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has not recorded any additional movements of Russian units, weapons and military equipment along Ukraine's state border, and sees reports on troop redeployment as an element of information and psychological actions.
That's according to the ministry's press service, with reference to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Ukrinform reports.
"According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, no additional movement of Russian units, weapons and military equipment to the state border with Ukraine has been recorded as of November 1, 2021," the statement said.
It is most probable that the facts published in the media and on the Internet about Russia's military buildup near the border with Ukraine are an element of special information and psychological actions and are, in fact, planned measures as part of troop movements after military drills, the press service said.
According to the report, Ukraine's military intelligence constantly monitors the actions of the aggressor state's troops and changes in their numbers near Ukraine's state border.
On October 31, The Washington Post reported that Russia's military buildup was again recorded near Ukraine's borders.
