Ukraine's defense minister offers resignation
Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran has submitted a letter of resignation to the Verkhovna Rada.
The Cabinet of Ministers' representative in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran has submitted his resignation to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Melnychuk wrote.
Taran was appointed defense minister on March 4, 2020.
On November 1, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov submitted a letter of resignation to the Verkhovna Rada. On the same day, the Servant of the People faction decided to nominate Iryna Vereshchuk for this post. The faction also supported President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to nominate Reznikov for the post of Ukraine's defense minister.
The Verkhovna Rada plans to make respective personnel changes in the government on November 3-4.
