Ship with two Island-class boats for Ukraine enters Black Sea
A general cargo ship carrying two Island-class patrol boats from the United States to Ukraine has already entered the Black Sea.
That's according to the website MarineTraffic, which tracks the positions of vessels around the world, Ukrinform reports.
According to Bosphorus observer Yoruk Isik, the ship has already passed the Bosphorus and is heading for Odesa.
Earlier reports said that another Island-class patrol boat is waiting to be sent from Baltimore to Ukraine. The U.S. Department of State this summer approved permission to sell up to 16 Mark VI Patrol Boats and related equipment for an estimated cost of $600 million to Ukraine. In total, the United States has provided more than $2.5 billion worth of security assistance to Ukraine since 2014.
