Maple Arch 2021 int’l exercise involving Ukrainian troops wraps up

The NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) hosted a closing ceremony for the Maple Arch 2021 multinational command and staff exercise with the participation of Ukraine’s Armed Forces’ servicemen.

That’s according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, Ukrinform reports

Representatives of the battalion headquarters with the 80th Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army’s Air Assault Forces, servicemen with LITPOLUKRBRIG, the Armed Forces of Georgia, Lithuania, Poland, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Canada were taking part in the drill for the past two weeks.

During the exercise, the military conducted joint training on planning various combat and peacekeeping missions.

The closing ceremony for the Maple Arch 2021 command and staff exercise was attended by Georgia’s Minister of Defense Dzhuansher Burchuladze, Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, Major General Georgiy Matiashvili, Commander of the Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Maksym Myrhorodskyi, and representatives of other participating states.

Meeting with the Ukrainian participants in the multinational exercise, Commander of the Assault Troops, Brigadier General Maksym Myrhorodsky, thanked the servicemen for the well-coordinated teamwork throughout the drill.

As part of military cooperation, Ukrainian paratroopers presented their foreign counterparts with memorable souvenirs with the emblems of Ukraine’s Assault Troops and the 80th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on November 14, a two-week command and staff exercise Maple Arch 2021" kicked off at the NATO-Georgia Training and Evaluation Center, with the participation of Ukrainian military servicemen.
