OSCE SMM records over 800 ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine over weekend

Between the evenings of December 10 and 12, the OSCE SMM recorded 211 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and 599 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region.

“In Donetsk region, between the evenings of December 10 and 12, the SMM recorded 211ceasefire violations, including 30 explosions (three airbursts, one impact and 26 undetermined),” reads the OSCE SMM daily report 292/2021 issued on December 13, 2021.

The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas north and north-north-east of Shyrokyne (government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk), south-south-east of Pivdenne (government-controlled, 40km north-east of Donetsk) and east and south-east of Zalizne (government-controlled, 42km north-east of Donetsk).

In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 842 ceasefire violations in the region, some of which also occurred in areas near Shyrokyne.

“In Luhansk region, between the evenings of 10 and 12 December, the SMM recorded 599 ceasefire violations, including 107 undetermined explosions,” the OSCE SMM informs.

The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas near the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk).

In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded eight ceasefire violations in the region, all of which also occurred close to the disengagement area near Zolote.
