OSCE records 57 ceasefire violations over 24 hours
OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine recorded 54 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and 3 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region over Tuesday, January 4.
“In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 54 ceasefire violations, all of which occurred in an area north of Shyrokyne (government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk) and north-north-east of Talakivka (government-controlled, 90km south of Donetsk),” reads the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) daily report 2/2022.
As noted, the Mission recorded 36 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region in the previous 24 hours.
“In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded three ceasefire violations, all undetermined explosions. All ceasefire violations occurred in an area west of the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk),” the OSCE SMM reports.
In the previous 24 hours, the Mission recorded one ceasefire violation in Luhansk region.
As reported, at the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on December 22, a common understanding was reached on the need to restore the ceasefire within the relevant measures agreed on July 22, 2020.
