Two ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine on Jan 6
Ukraine recorded two ceasefire violations by Russian-backed forces in the area of the Joint Forces Operation on January 6, the JFO headquarters has said in a morning report on Facebook.
"In the direction of Luhanske, the occupiers fired large-caliber machine guns. Near Starohnativka, the enemy fired on the positions of Ukrainian troops from automatic and anti-tank grenade launchers, as well as large-caliber machine guns," the report said.
No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.
"Ukrainian defenders returned fire without using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements and forced the enemy to cease fire. No ceasefire violations by Russian occupation forces were recorded as of 07:00 on January 7," the JFO HQ said.
Servicemen of the Ukrainian Joint Forces keep the situation under control, continuing to repel and deter Russia's armed aggression.
