President of Ukrainian Canadian Congress: Canada can help Ukraine enter markets of North America
Canada can become a sort of a guide for Ukrainian producers and help them enter the markets of the entire North America.
President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Pavlo Grod said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"There are good products in Ukraine, but it is necessary to encourage manufacturers to take a closer look at Canada as a gateway to the markets of the entire North America. The products can be delivered to Canada, then in a certain way processed and re-exported to the US and Mexico. Therefore, the Canadian market has a great potential for Ukrainian products," Grod said.
In his opinion, the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement opens wide opportunities for Ukrainian exporters. "I would not belittle the opportunities of Ukrainian producers for entering the Canadian market. Moreover, an increase in exports is more important for Ukraine than the growth of imports," the UCC President said.
As reported, the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement entered into force on August 1, 2017. Canada abolished 98% of duties on Ukrainian goods, which will be sold to Canada.
