Draft law ‘On currency’ to gradually liberalize foreign exchange market – Poroshenko

The draft law "On Currency" envisages the introduction of gradual, consistent and flexible liberalization in the foreign exchange market of Ukraine, free movement of capital and other currency values.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this at a meeting of the National Council of Regions on March 2, the president’s press service reports.

“We also remove such a severe punishment as the suspension of foreign economic activity," Poroshenko said.

According to the president, the bill also introduces the principle "everything that is not forbidden is allowed" and removes “such a severe punishment as the suspension of foreign economic activity”.

He also stressed that the currency regulation reform extremely important for stimulating the economy and developing entrepreneurship.

"The ultimate goal is to improve the conditions for investors, attract investment, create new jobs, new revenues to the state budget, currency inflows into the country, strengthening of the national currency. And the main thing is the growth of income of Ukrainians. Successful Ukraine for successful people," Poroshenko stressed.
