Zubko: 70 regional projects funded by EU to be implemented in Ukraine
In 2018, 70 regional projects funded by the European Union will be launched in Ukraine within the framework of the Sector Policy Support Programme of Ukraine, according to Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko.
"It is another area of support for local communities. The total amount of funds for projects makes up over UAH 600 million," the official said.
He also said that the competition commission consisting of representatives of ministries, people's deputies and public organizations approved for consideration 507 projects from almost all regions of Ukraine. Thus, among 70 winning projects, the largest number of projects was recorded in Lviv region - 12 projects; Khmelnytskyi region - 10; Cherkasy region- 3; Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Luhansk regions- 1 project each, the Education and Science Ministry- 9 projects, the Agrarian Policy Ministry – 1, the Regional Development Ministry – 1.
As to the direction, the winners are: innovative economy and investments - 17 projects; rural development - 11 projects; human potential development - 18 projects; tourism development - 16 projects; development of all-Ukrainian solidarity - 8 projects.
