Ukraine, China cooperating in renewable energy for almost a year

The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China have been co-operating in the field of renewable energy for almost a year.

"We develop successful partnership in this field [green energy projects], which started with signing of the memorandum between the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China in December 2017," the agency’s press service reports with reference to chairman Serhiy Savchuk.

China is a strategic partner of Ukraine, especially in the clean energy sector, he emphasized.

Savchuk noted that Chinese companies had been already implementing green projects in Ukraine, mainly in solar and wind energy sectors. However, the directions of cooperation are much wider.

"We have prepared more than 100 potentially attractive projects for investors to the total tune of more than $4 billion," Savchuk added.
