Number of millionaires in Kyiv grows by quarter
Some 2,941 people in Kyiv declared income exceeding UAH 1 million during this year's income declaration campaign, an increase of 25% (589 people) from last year.
The head of the main directorate of the State Fiscal Service in Kyiv, Liudmyla Demchenko, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"In general, the capital's millionaires have declared UAH 36.505 billion, which is 73% more than last year. They have to pay UAH 1.93 billion worth of personal income tax and over UAH 270 million worth of military tax," Demchenko said.
She noted that public figures also actively declared their income.
"Dmytro Monatyk and Oleg Vynnyk visited our service centers. In general, the capital's declaration campaign in 2019 saw the declarations of such prominent artists as Potap, Konstantin Meladze, ONUKA, Iryna Bilyk, Natalia Mogilevskaya, Anastasiya Kamenskykh, Tina Karol, and many others. We counted 111 representatives of show business during the current declaration campaign, including 23 people's artists of Ukraine," she said.
Athletes are also very active. Football players and employees of Dynamo Kyiv this year filed 95 asset declarations and declared income exceeding UAH 170 million, Demchenko said.
According to her, the largest number of millionaires lives in the Pechersky (614), Shevchenkivsky (545) and Holosiivsky (314) districts of the Ukrainian capital.
