Zelensky warns Niinisto of danger of Nord Stream 2

Nord Stream 2 poses a threat to the whole of Europe, and its evaluation as a purely commercial project may cost European partners much in the future, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

He said this at a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in Kyiv on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I drew the Finnish president's attention to the Nord Stream 2 issue and stressed that this project is a threat to the whole of Europe and that its evaluation as a purely commercial one may cost our European partners much in the future," Zelensky said.

He noted that it is extremely important for Ukraine to expand cooperation with Finland in the energy sector, including through the introduction of energy-saving technologies in Ukraine.

Zelensky also announced an agreement to deepen military cooperation with Finland and to develop the dialogue between the defense agencies of both countries.
