Digital Transformation Ministry, VISA sign memorandum of cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and Senior Vice President, Group Country Manager for Visa CISSEE Vira Platonova have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at establishing consulting areas for small and medium-sized businesses, the Government portal has reported.

“The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and VISA announce cooperation aimed at establishing consulting areas for small and medium-sized businesses and the development of on-line public services,” reads the report.

It is noted that the Ministry of Digital Transformation had earlier announced its intentions to create consulting areas for entrepreneurs in the format of online platforms and offline hubs in every region of Ukraine.

“Such a project is aimed at achieving a positive impact on the Ukrainian economy by promoting the level of knowledge and competence of entrepreneurs and, as a result, the success of Ukrainian businesses. VISA will support the implementation of this project and will direct its efforts to the development of information and educational materials for small and medium-sized businesses in digital literacy, the use of modern technologies for receiving payments (Tap to Phone technology, which turns a smartphone into a mobile POS terminal, and QR codes),” reads the report.

In addition, the parties plan to introduce technological solutions for payment for administrative and other electronic services through the mobile application and online public services system (diia.gov.ua), to develop recommendations using the latest technological solutions for digitizing payments made by the state to citizens.
