Passenger traffic at Kyiv metro decreased by 56% last year

In 2020, the Kyiv metro carried 279.5 million passengers, which is 215.8 million, or 56% less than last year, Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Hustieliev has said.

“The coronavirus pandemic and quarantine restrictions affected the number of passengers carried in the past year. However, the leading stations in terms of passenger traffic remain unchanged. Thus, Akademmistechko remained the busiest station in 2020. It was used by 12.5 million Kyiv residents and guests of the capital. Traditionally, the smallest number of passengers was recorded at the Dnipro station (555 thousand),” he said.

From 00:00 on January 8 to 00:00 on January 25, a number of additional quarantine restrictions imposed by the government are in effect in Kyiv and throughout the country.
