Ukraine intends to invest more than UAH 6B in mineral resource base development until 2030

The Cabinet of Ministers is planning to invest UAH 2.76 billion in the development of the mineral resource base in the next four years and another UAH 3.53 billion in the period from 2026 to 2030.

Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Roman Abramovsky stated this during the fourth meeting dedicated to the public discussion of the draft National Economic Strategy of Ukraine until 2030, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"From 2010 to 2020, the funding had to reach UAH 10.7 billion. In fact, these volumes remained at a level of just over UAH 1.2 billion, moreover, they were not always used effectively, so the industry is declining. Our proposal is [to allocate] UAH 2.76 billion for the next 4 years and another UAH 3.53 billion from 2026 to 2030. Due to this, we want the mineral resource base to be constantly updated,” Abramovsky said.

He added that the Ukrainian government plans to digitize information on subsoil users, implement modern digital solutions, such as electronic auctions, an electronic map of minerals, and the introduction of an electronic cabinet of the subsoil user.  Currently, all geoinformation and information on land plots are updated on the National Geospatial Data Portal.

As reported by Ukrinform, a special working group of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is developing the National Economic Strategy until 2030 using the platform of the Economic Recovery Center. The discussion of the draft National Economic Strategy until 2030 was launched on January 22 and will last until February 10.
