Ukrainian delegation signs memorandums, contracts worth over $3B in UAE

A Ukrainian delegation has signed a number of memorandums and contracts worth more than $3 billion as part of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the presidential press service has reported.

According to the report, memorandums of understanding were signed between the State Property Fund of Ukraine and Mubadala Investment Company. They are aimed at deepening cooperation in the development of promising investment projects and ensuring the Emirati side's participation in the program of privatization of state property in Ukraine.

"At all international meetings, I call for investment in Ukraine. Our state has a huge potential: geopolitical position, natural resources, educated people. Now is the time to realize this potential and create a strong economy," Zelensky said.

He stressed that attracting investments is the key to Ukraine's economic growth. Therefore, the signing of a memorandum with the state-owned Mubadala Investment Company on the intention to invest in Ukraine is an extremely important step in paving the way for large-scale investment in Ukraine from Western Asia, Zelensky said.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine signed a memorandum with INTELMAX Management Consulting on cooperation in creating a platform for the exchange of intellectual property based on the Fantom blockchain platform, which will provide increased security and transparency. It is also planned to introduce blockchain technologies in government processes and services.

The parties also signed documents in the field of defense and discussed the possibility of building joint plants.

In addition, a memorandum was signed in the agricultural sector, which provides for the establishment of an agricultural hub and a trading company to ensure food security.

The possibility of establishing a Ukrainian sovereign wealth fund for joint investments is being considered.

In addition, 18 Ukrainian private companies, including Interpipe, Dragon Capital, DTEK, Unit City, EastOne, UMG, Ufuture, Fortior, signed memorandums with Mubadala Investment Company.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska are on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on February 14-15.
