EIB to provide EUR 7M grant to support infrastructure projects in Ukraine
The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a EUR 7 million grant to support infrastructure projects in Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development has reported.
“On May 25, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine signed a EUR 7 million grant agreement to be funded by the EU. This grant will be used to prepare and implement the Recovery Program in Ukraine,” the report reads.
Communities and Territories Development Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov said that he highly appreciates the fruitful cooperation with our international partners - the European Commission and the EIB.
“In particular, the implementation of the Emergency Credit Program for Reconstruction of Ukraine has already helped to reconstruct more than 240 infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. A new EUR 340 million loan agreement from the EIB, signed last year, will contribute to an even larger renovation of social infrastructure in Ukraine. A EUR 7 million grant from the EU will help us complete the planned reconstruction as soon as possible,” he said.
In addition, the implementation of projects under the Program will benefit more than 13 million people in Ukraine, as well as stimulate regional development and rapid economic growth in the country.
