Ukraine, China sign agreement on cooperation in construction, infrastructure
Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov and Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Wang Wentao have signed an intergovernmental agreement on expanding cooperation between Ukraine and China to implement joint projects in the field of infrastructure construction, the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry's press service has reported.
According to the report, the priorities of cooperation include railway transit, airports, ports, communications and municipal engineering.
Under the agreement, Ukraine and China plan to encourage companies and financial institutions of both countries to actively cooperate in the construction of infrastructure facilities. The parties also agreed to promote the establishment of closer economic ties between the two countries and to provide the necessary assistance and support in the implementation of joint projects.
The agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the People's Republic of China on deepening cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction provides for attracting funds on preferential terms from the Government of the People's Republic of China to implement infrastructure projects.
As a result of joint consultations, the parties will approve potential cooperation projects to be supported by Chinese funds.
