More than 13,000 land agreements registered in Ukraine

As of September 6, Ukraine registered 12,784 agreements on the purchase and sale of agricultural land, Ukrinform reports, referring to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to the ministry, 4,822 notaries submitted applications for access to the State Land Cadastre.

The total number of applications is 5,482. Of these, 4,845 applications were approved, whereas 632 were rejected.

According to the ministry, 27, 810 hectares of agricultural land have been already sold throughout Ukraine since July 1. The largest areas of farmland were sold in Kirovohrad region (3,329.2 ha), Kharkiv region (3,320.7 ha) and Poltava region (2,903.5 ha). In terms of the number of concluded agreements, the leaders are Kyiv region (1,156 agreements), Poltava region (1,123 agreements) and Kharkiv region (1,108 agreements).

As reported, Ukraine officially launched the land market on July 1. Until 2024, only Ukrainian citizens will be able to buy agricultural land - up to 100 hectares per person. The issue of selling land to citizens without Ukrainian citizenship and foreigners will be decided only in a nationwide referendum.
