NBU raises discount rate to 8.5%
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to raise the discount rate to 8.5%.
"The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine has decided to raise the discount rate to 8.5%," NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Prior to that, the NBU raised the discount rate to 8% per annum from July 23. In June, the central bank kept the discount rate at 7.5%.
On April 16, the NBU raised the discount rate from 6.5% to 7.5% and from 6% to 6.5% on March 5.
The discount rate at the level of 6% had been in effect in Ukraine since June 2020.
