Consumer prices in Ukraine down 0.2% in August
In August 2021, consumer prices in Ukraine decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month, according to the State Statistics Service.
Consumer prices in August 2021 decreased by 0.2% compared to July 2021, and rose by 10.2% compared to August 2020 and by 6.2% compared to December 2020. In January-August 2021, compared to the same period last year, consumer inflation amounted to 8.7%.
Core inflation last month was 0% compared to July 2021. Since the beginning of the year, it has reached 4.2%.
From August 2020 to August 2021, among consumer goods and services, the highest rise was registered in the prices for natural gas (up 96.1%), sugar (up 75.6%) and sunflower oil (up 91.2%).
At the same time, from August 2020 to August 2021, there was a decrease in prices for fruits (down 9.0%), vegetables (down 8.1%), footwear (down 4.3%), and clothing (down 4.3%).
As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices in August 2020 decreased by 0.2% compared to July 2020 and rose by 2.5% compared to August 2019. In January-August 2021, consumer inflation came to 2.4% compared to the same period last year.
